Power Picture Post

First off, alliteration, hey!!!! Next we had a great weekend in Dallas with Andie's family. Saturday my father-in-law and brother-in-law continued our Father's Day golf tradition. As always grandpa Rusty won, but we are getting closer. The club house at Texas Women's University burnt down so we had to walk the course. That was part of Rusty's plan to wear down the fat kids but we actually played better on the back nine. One of these years I will break 100 and beat the guy who is almost 60. I had a big plan to wear my Red Wings jersey while playing to rub it in to their Stars-loving faces but since it was close to 100 I just talked crap the whole game.

Saturday night her parents watched the kids and we actually ate food (at a leisurely pace),visited friends (hi Jim and Jaime)and saw a movie. We saw The Incredible Hulk and it was actually good. I went in with less than good vibes because the last one sucked hard. I liked this new one. Since i am a recovering comic book nerd I would call this a reboot, starting the franchise over. The action was good and I really liked it. i recommend it.

Now we are behind on some pics so I will just give some captions to these photos. They range from many topics over the past month and a half. Enjoy.

Catching up vol 2

So we have had a lot happen, but one of them is not sleeping, so my posting has been sparse at best. Notice I got off my ass to post about the wings but not my family. My kids are in good hands with those kind of values. I even made Ty watch them carry the cup around when they won and he acted like I was torturing them. I was taking away from his Wii time, God forbid.

We will have some posts about Ty's b-day, Coop's graduation, Ty's graduation, my b-day and other when I finally upload like 100 pics. First Coop and Ry's baptism.

Well ,we have dropped the ball in several regards when it comes to Coop, but one of the biggest in the eyes of my parents and the Lord is we never got Coop baptized. Things happened with trying to organize long distance travel a few times and then we kind of stopped trying. Meanwhile, Coop was this close to purgatory. With the addition of Ryan we decided to get two souls with one stone and signed them both up. This coincided with my parents trip here to see the baby so that worked well. The added bonus was my sister Diane came down also.

When we started figuring this thing out we decided that Andie's brother and sister would be godparents for both boys because we couldn't get anyone else down here and Catholics are a little scarce in the south. After that, the sheer magnitude of what was going to happen hit me. We were going to have my mom, my dad, my sister, andie's sister, her husband, her daughter, andie's brother, his fiancee, her mom and her dad were going to be in our house. That includes us 5 and Ernie. After some things were figured out my parents and sister stayed in a hotel and everyone else stayed in our house. All this happened right around my birthday so that was a crazy present. If I said I wasn't dreading this then I would be lying. That is a lot of people.

The baptism was fine. It was after mass but that was fine. It was right at dinner time so Coop was both tired and hungry, a deadly combo. Even the "Jesus water" as we put it could help his attitude. At least he didn't call the priest a butthead, as he is want to do. Everything, I have to say went well. No huge fights, at least that I heard about, no adults cried out in the open, I call that a success. It was good to see Brad in from California and continue to get to know Jin. It was also good to know that Andie thought I stalked her before we started dating. If I was creepy-stalker-with-a-dog guy why did you ask me out, huh? Anyway, I was glad to see my family, although it seemed like not enough time.

These are pics of my family and all of the Miller kids. It is funny that they are all married to or will be marrying J-named people Jason, Jack, Jin. Wonder if Brad knew the pressure he was under when he was meeting Jin, better have a J-name or it's not gonna happen, baby

We will update soon but....

Most of you guys who read this blog, all 3 of you, are from back home. Most of my life was in the greater Detroit area and as such I am hopelessly linked to the sports team of that area. This year it is kind of hard to watch these teams.

The Lions at least are consistent, consistently awful!! This last year they actually looked like they were going to be good, and all of us fell for it. We should know the only way they could win is on a video game. They are run by the worst GM ever, period. He may be "special" so I am not sure if I am allowed to make fun of him but his record in charge is laughable. I heard that this is our new QB this year

Can't be any worse. I think he scored 4 TD's in one game.

The Tigers are really making me mad. I stuck with them when no one else did. I survived the 119 loss season. They repaid me by going to the world series, and then looking horrible. last year they had the best record and crapped the bed. This year they sucked me in with their off-season trades and I believed they would beat everyone. Well, they stink, and don't seem to be getting any better. I am actually not following every pitch of every game, like I used to. If they get better maybe, but the Marlboro man needs to really step it up.

The Pistons are really hard to cheer for. When I was a kid, they were the Bad Boys. Isiah, Joe, the Worm, Spider Sally, Microwave... they had some great personalities and always worked there butts off. In 2004 the new Pistons beat the mighty Lakers with team basketball. The last couple years they only play when they feel like it and think they can turn it on and off and win when they want. They really don't start playing until they have to. They could really be playing for the championship right now because they are a good team, but they aren't. There coach got the ziggy and they are probably trading a lot of the team. The only saving grace for me is Joe Dumars. He seems as pissed off as me.
In Joe we trust.

That just leaves us with the "Hot Wings".

They would be the anti-Pistons. They worked hard the whole season, were actually the best and played like it. The other teams in town should take notice. I saw the town in 97 and 98 when they won and it was crazy. I wish I could be there but I am more than happy with 5 minutes of coverage ESPN gave it. (kidding) I always love seeing that biggot Don Cherry tell me my team is no good as they are winning. It helps when he wears a pastel suit telling me Europeans are "soft". Puzzling.

Well, just wanted to get this off my chest. GO WINGS!!!!

Happy Mother's Day

So I missed Mother's day on here so happy Mom's day to all the moms out there including my mom and grandma. Like my dad says, mother is only half a word. That is why grandpa isn't allowed with the kids alone.

This video has a few parts were I actually stop breathing and/or pee myself. Happy late Mom's day everyone.

Catching up vol 1

So this is old but not any less special. Ty lost his first tooth right before Ryan was born. His teacher actually ripped it out in class. Thanks Mrs Outlaw!!!
I don't know if it is the price of gas or the weakening of the dollar but he got a dollar for that tooth. Just to give some perspective, i had a crazy snaggletooth removed from the roof of mouth, no longer have feeling up there and got a dollar. Now that was '82 or '83 but come on!!!
We have been trying to figure out which one of his brothers Ryan looks like. Now these aren't the best pics but what do you guys think?? (Just so you know if you just think is the cutest thing you have ever seen then that means he looks like me.)

Here are just some odd's n end's photos:

Enjoy

I love Texas but...

First I want to say I love Austin and parts of the rest of Texas. I, probably like many of you, thought that Texas was all tumbleweeds and horseturds. But Austin is a beautiful town, kind of like Ann Arbor with better weather. I am sure my parents don't like it as much since our ever growing family is 1000 miles away but they, and the rest of you too, can come visit when they want.

Now I said that to say this, Texas in general thinks they are the only state left in the USA. They were their own country for awhile, and never let you forget it. I bring this up because I will and always will be a Michigan man. I will always follow my home teams, no matter how crappy that is to do, yeah I am looking at you Lions!!!!

I am sure most people know the Red wings (or as Ty calls them the Hot Wings) are about to win their 4th Stanley Cup in about 10 years. Seems like maybe a fan of their team, a former citizen of Hockeytown for Godsakes, might know a little about the game, right? Makes sense, right? Well, the Stars played the Wings in the last round and played well but ultimately lost 4-2. These hockey lifers down here were all over me about how great the Stars were before and during the series, not so much after. They told me stats and rules, and told me their opnions of their hockey dominance. If I remember they won one cup in 99 because Brett Hull cheated. When a guy with barely all his teeth tells you, "bet your scared yankee. the south is coming to take hockey too." I really think they think only people from dallas can play on that team. I am pretty sure that the whole team is "yankees". Madono is from Detroit.

Anyway, it is one of the only things that bugs me but it gets really annoying. Texas has to be the biggest and best at everything or everyones belt buckles will be confiscated. It's in the bylaws.

We are not gone

Sorry the blogging has been sparse. It is really hard to get into a groove since Ryan has been born. My day consists of getting up getting the Ty to school, getting myself to work, coming home, eating, putting the boys to bed and then trying to stay awake past 9pm. Needless to say, it doesn't happen much. But, we have had some great things happen recently so stayed tuned.

Here is something to hold you over. We got some binoculars at work and I gave them to the boys. Coop calls them his "nockers". Naturally we have him say it over and over cuz we is classy like that.

Check out my nockers!!!!

After Coop got the attention Ty had to be involved also. He gives his views on the world and the best way to hit his brother.

Also here is a picture of Ryan's best emotion - bored indifference
More to come soon
