Yep! We are still alive and kickin it in the KC. We are slowly but surely forcing ourselves into a routine and trying not to run into each other in our townhouse. We opted for a 3 bedroom townhouse with a basement until we figured out what we were going to do. We have not and will not unpack everything since we will be moving again still.
We really like Kansas City and the area. I am very happy at my new job. I am still adjusting because I was doing the same thing for over 10 years so even though it is the same job, everyone has their own wrinkle on Pathology. I am still learning this wrinkle.
The boys are happy but definitely need a bigger place. They did get to see some snow though, which was good for them.
Tyler is doing good in his new school as a Line Creek Lion. He was already invited to a birthday party and has done very well. He had state testing all last week and did very well. He gets that from my nerd genes.
Coop has been going to preschool and as usual is the biggest in class. He says he loves it and the teacher loves him, which is huge for coop. He doesn't do well with the tough love approach.
Ryan decided to put his hand into our fireplace and got 2nd degree burns on his left hand. We had to take him to the hospital and then the burn unit at the children's hospital. He did surprisingly good. Nothing really phases that little chubb. It has been two weeks and he is crawling around with no problems, and the docs say he will have no scarring so that is good.
We are going to build a house because we (I say that to save my marriage)could not find everything we(again read above) wanted in a house that was already built. This house will be great and we will be there for a while, God willing.
The nice thing about KC is most of Andie's family is here and that means holidays are not lonely. We went to St Joe about 30 minutes away to her aunt's house for Easter and had fun. The boys got to hang out with their cousins (2nd cousins really but who's asking) and we ate a lot. The boys had a egg hunt and Coop was the big winner finding a 15$ egg. Tyler tried to talk him into giving him the money on the ride home. I think the boys, including Ryan, had a good haul this year. Here is some photographic evidence.
So we are slowly become Kansas City residents and very much enjoying it every day. After we build we expect many visitors. As I always say I will try to update more. We are having Ryan's 1st birthday this weekend so we may have more pictures. Hope you are doing well and contact us if you can.
